CEMAR® was founded upon a first-hand need for a solution to the administrative demands of a large construction contract. We are passionate about intuitive 'tools' and against complicated IT nonsense. We develop solutions that make work easier; flexible systems that assist, not dictate. We hold core to our system development the NEC3 principles of flexibility, simplicity and clarity. We start by preserving those benefits of tried and tested paper methods and then carefully add value without losing the bits that always worked.
Our systems focus on the user experience, ensuring the shortest compliant route to get the job done. We are content when we know managers, engineers, consultants and supervisors are spending as much time as possible on their profession; rather than chasing administration. Our Quality Management System is ISO 9001 certified though BSI and we are registered Microsoft partners.
We have an excellent team of in-house programmers and infrastructure experts, including MCP (Microsoft Certified Professionals), affording us complete control over the evolution of our ‘Software as a Service’ solution. Our team brings accomplished programmers and web-application developers, UK based professional support, together with several decades of practical experience in contract management in the construction and leasing industry. We also successfully run Apprenticeship programmes for Business Administration and Software Development.
Our full-time NEC3® expert has held various roles under significant construction contracts. Whilst delivering a range of training courses and workshops across the NEC® family to all of the major sectors for Thomas Telford (NEC3® authors), he is also an ICE examiner on the Law and Contract Management Examinations.
The team is also supplemented by a Chartered Civil Engineer, Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Engineers Australia who has considerable experience in the construction industry working for both contractors and clients whilst delivering several critical infrastructure projects utilising CEMAR.
This mix of extensive software development, site experience and deep understanding of contract procedure continues to drive the practical and successful CEMAR concept. Our main objective is to ensure the end user’s experience remains simple, compliant, flexible and effective.
