£635m Lee Tunnel River Thames

Work has started on the £635m, four-mile long Lee Tunnel project, which will prevent 16 million tonnes of sewage discharging into the River Lee each year from the largest sewer overflow point at Abbey Mills Pumping Station in Stratford.

CEMAR is being used to manage administration on the project between the project management team and the principal contractor, MVB.

White Cart Water Flood Prevention Scheme Glasgow

Glasgow City Council’s flood prevention scheme addresses the risk posed by the White Cart Water and its tributary the Auldhouse Burn. The scheme commenced following approval by Scottish Ministers in 2006 and is expected to complete February 2012. 

CEMAR is being used as the core contract administration system on the circa £30m project that comprises the formation of three flood storage areas upstream of the city. Since January 2009 the system has administered approximately 6,000 communications, each one consistent, compliant, auditable and accessible.

Belfast Community Housing Association

Belfast Community Housing Association are pioneering the use of the NEC3® Term Service Contract in Northern Ireland. 

The association together with their term contractor MJ Shaw are using the CEMAR system to administer their NEC3® TSC contract. Services comprise reactive maintenance, welfare adaptations, boiler servicing, cleaning and grounds maintenance to approximately 850 accommodation units. 

Now in the second year and with circa 5,000 task orders, the consistent, compliant, auditable and accessible approach to administration that CEMAR provides is proving hugely valuable. Gloucestershire County Council

CEMAR is Gloucestershire’s choice of NEC3® administration system. To date CEMAR has administered over 7,500 communications across their portfolio of works.

Coventry City Council

On the back of the success of Phase One, a programme of further city centre improvements is planned for 2013/14. CEMAR continues to successfully and efficiently manage administration on the project. Since Phase One kicked off in May 2011, the CEMAR system has administered circa 4,500 communications under the project to date, each one NEC3® compliant, accessible, auditable and consistent.

Under the second phase, plans include improving pedestrian links into the city centre from Jordan Well to High Street to create an attractive boulevard into the city centre and junction improvements at Little Park Street, Council House Square and Lidice Place and improvements to public realm and bus interchange facilities on Trinity Street to further improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians as well as reduce congestion. A programme of wider de-cluttering will be undertaken to improve the settings to our historic buildings.

The enhancements will massively improve links to the city's major tourist attractions - the Cathedral and Transport Museum and will create a more attractive city centre environment to encourage investment and stimulate growth.
