CEMAR Director Nick Woodrow and IT Apprentice Marjona Halimova attended the WISE Campaign Conference in London on 10th November. Along with HS2, IET and many others, the company had a stand at which it welcomed a diverse cross-section of delegates, including other members of the WISE Campaign, graduates, pre-secondary school and pre-sixth form pupils.
Nick and Marjona discussed a broad range of topics with their visitors, including the work that CEMAR do, career prospects in IT and the possibilities for both work experience and fact finding visits to the company’s offices. The opportunity to swap ideas with other WISE members, in “Getting Girls Interested”, was also explored with ideas for future events and local engagement. As members of the WISE Campaign CEMAR fully supports its aims to increase the participation, contribution and success of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
