Heathrow Airport Limited, CEMAR supporting capital investment and maintenance projects

CEMAR continues to support Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) in delivering its capital investment plan and supporting maintenance work across the airport. Implementation of CEMAR on the Terminal Restoration & Modernisation, Portfolio of Projects and Capacity Optimisation portfolio of BAA Service Contracts proved to be a great success in the Q5 regulatory period and now in Q6 HAL use CEMAR across all NEC contracts and also many non-NEC agreements.

Heathrow Airport are investing approximately £3bn in this 5 year regulatory period and with independent auditing to satisfy the Civil Aviation Authority and airline stakeholders CEMAR has been integral in proving clarity and visibility across capital programmes.

"Having overseen the implementation of CEMAR across a series of contracts the feedback from users has, without exception been extremely positive. Both client and contractors have found the tool to be intuitive and the enthusiasm witnessed following introductory training sessions has always been encouraging."
Mike Duffy, Senior Project Manager, Mott MacDonald

Over 1,500 Users across the supply chain are collaboratively engaged using CEMAR with hundreds of contracts across NEC ECC, PSC, TSC & ECSC.

"The product adheres much more rigorously to the actual workings of the NEC® contract and is a well thought out/ comprehensive software package. It is particular adept at raising all the correct letters electronically automatically quoting the relevant clauses… It is clear this product has been developed by project managers/QS’s to assist and not hinder change control."
Delivery Manager, HAL

"The system is user friendly, flexible and easy to use… CEMAR has enhanced the process of Change Control on all our HAL Contracts."
Commercial Manager, Airports, Morgan Sindall PLC

"Good flexibility in reporting, reports can be tailored to specific needs without affecting the core processes of CEMAR… Enforces stricter compliance of contract conditions."
Quantity Surveyor, HETCo JV - EAAR

Heathrow have major expansion plans and the next regulatory period will prove to be a pivotal moment in the history of the airport as they seek to reinforce their position as the hub airport of choice.  CEMAR is proud to have supported Heathrow Airport Limited to date and we very much hope to be part of the next exciting chapter of the airport's growth.
